J-POST™ – Junior Leadership Network
Develop confidence, civic engagement, and leadership capacity among military-connected youth (ages 13–21).
Target Audience: Ages 13–21 (military-connected youth)
Key Components:
Quarterly Leadership Workshops: 4 workshops/year covering topics like public speaking, decision-making, civic engagement, cross-cultural communication
Peer Mentorship Circles: Monthly peer-led group discussions on identity, transition, education, career planning
Public Speaking Training: Presentation skills; opportunities to speak at Brat Corps Summit, community events, media
Civic Engagement Projects: Community service initiatives, advocacy campaigns, policy research
National Networking: Annual J-POST Summit (February) bringing together 100+ youth leaders
Leadership Certification: Year-long program with capstone project; certificate of completion
Program Duration: Flexible (can join any time; multi-year engagement encouraged)
Cost: Free for members of Brat Corps Posts; $100/year for non-members
Example Projects:
Military Brat Awareness campaign (social media, posters, school presentations)
Congressional advocacy on military-family policy
Research project on military-brat transitions
Community service projects (volunteering, mentoring)
