Brat Bridge Mentorship™ Connecting Generations

Program Model (3-tier)

Tier 1: Youth Mentorship (Ages 13–18)

  • Mentee paired with young adult (18–25) mentor

  • Focus: School transitions, PCS moves, identity, social connection

  • Frequency: Monthly 1-on-1 meetings (in-person or virtual)

  • Duration: 6–12 months

Program Model (3-tier)

Tier 2: Young Adult Mentorship (Ages 18–30)

  • Mentee paired with adult brat (26–50) mentor

  • Focus: Education, career development, independence, purpose

  • Frequency: Bi-weekly 1-on-1 meetings

  • Duration: 12–24 months

Tier 3: Adult Mentorship (Ages 26–70+)

  • Mentee paired with peer or heritage mentor

  • Focus: Career advancement, leadership, legacy, life purpose

  • Frequency: Monthly 1-on-1 meetings

  • Duration: Ongoing

Mentor Training (Required):

  • 8-hour certification course (in-person or online)

  • Topics: Active listening, trauma-informed mentoring, military-brat cultural competency, boundaries, resources

  • Annual refresher required

  • Cost: Free for Brat Corps members; $50 non-members

Matching Process:

  1. Mentee/mentor application (interests, availability, goals)

  2. Compatibility matching algorithm (preferences, location, goals)

  3. Introductory meeting (orientation, goal-setting)

  4. Monthly check-ins with program coordinator

  5. 6-month evaluation and option to continue or match new mentor

Resources Provided:

  • Mentee/mentor handbook (40+ pages)

  • Monthly topic guides (identity, transition, career, health, etc.)

  • Crisis resource guide (mental health, hotlines, support services)

  • Mentor portal (progress tracking, communication tools)

  • Annual reunion events (networking, celebration)
